| Vodafone upgrade Home&Beyond package

Both GO and Vodafone have had a bundle combining home fixed Internet
access and 3G mobile Internet access for quite a few months. Up till a few days ago, the
bundle from GO was much better, offering 8Mbps ADSL (much slower in
most cases due to sub par phone lines) with 100GB monthly download
limit, and mobile Internet with 3GB monthly usage limit for
€30.90/month (including taxes)
Vodafone now have upgraded their bundle to more or less match GO's
offering. For €28/month, one now gets fixed WiMAX Internet at
4Mbps/80GB monthly limit, and 3G Internet access with 3GB monthly
limit. Unlike GO's 2 year contract, Vodafone's contract is only 1 year
long.
This all seems to be getting to a point where the mobile operators are finally offering affordable packages and competing on this regard as well. With Melita Mobile just a few days away, competition should only get harsher - hopefully bringing further benefits to the end users.
